No, the Alapaha Blueblood is a dry-mouth dog. The
only drooling you'll see is when finished drinking water.
2. WHAT IS THE LIFE EXPECTANCY
OF AN ALAPAHA BULLDOG?
Owners can expect 10 to 12 years of devotion if fed right
and if vaccinations aren't overly administered.
3. DO ALAPAHAS SHED?
Yes, all mammals with hair shed. The Alapaha has a
short, dense coat. Shedding takes place twice a year,
but the shedding is barely noticeable.
4. WHERE DOES THE BREED'S
GLASS EYE OF "BLUE MERLE HARLEQUIN" COLOR COME FROM?
Based on my research, it comes from the ancestors of the
Catahoula Leopard dog.
5. WHAT BRAND OF DOG FOOD DO
YOU FEED YOUR DOGS? WHAT DIET DO YOU FEEL IS SUFFICIENT FOR
RAISING HEALTHY ALAPAHA PUPS?
We feed all our adult dogs a raw diet. Raw meat and
raw bones. We feed Innova Evo kibble twice a week with
whole egg and fish oils. All Pups eat Innova Evo Puppy
Food. Let me say, you will get back whatever you put into
your pup. If you spend $20 for a bag of kibble, you're
getting the equivalent of "fast food." Do your
research on kibble. Bulldogs do not need corn, wheat, or rice.

6. WHEN SHOULD MY ALAPAHA
PUPPY START TO SHOW REAL SIGNS OF PROTECTIVNESS?
In most cases an Alapaha pup that comes from a working
dame/sire should show signs of suspicion or aggression at
about 6 months. It can only be enhanced through
training. The Alapaha has the genes for guard
protection work, but you have to teach them the control and
ability to reason through training.
7. HOW ARE ALAPAHAS WITH CHILDREN?
The ABB is an excellent family companion. A well-bred,
well-trained Alapaha will be the most affectionate guard dog
you'll ever own. Extra precaution must be taken around
infants, as with any breed of dog.
8. WHAT VACCINATIONS WILL A
SOUTH BAY BULLIE PUP RECEIVE BEFORE PICK-UP/DELIVERY?
We administer a killed Parvo/Bicor at 7 weeks. We
administer a dewormer only at 7 weeks. All pups will
get a physical exam from a certified vet along with a health
certificate. Let me say, too many dogs and cats are
dieing from over-vaccination resulting in cancer and various
skin disorders. Please

9. WHAT AGE CAN A SOUTH BAY BULLIE PUP BE PICKED UP?
All pups are available for pick-up or delivery at 8 weeks of
age. Airline cargo shipment fairs vary, but average
cost is about $250.00--a cost incurred by the new owner.

WHAT IS SOUTH BAY BULLIES PRICING & PROCESS FOR
SELECTION OF PUPS?
We take 4 male and 4 female deposits per breeding: 1st
pick (male or female) $2500, 2nd pick $2000, 3rd pick $1500, and 4th
pick $1200. A $500 deposit is required. If
breeding does not take, the deposit will be refunded to the
client in the same fashion it was sent to South Bay Bullies.
11. WHAT IF I CAN NOT KEEP MY
PUP?
If at any time you are not able to care for your Alapaha
bulldog, South Bay Bullies will take him/her back--no
questions asked.
12. CAN SOUTH BAY BULLIES HELP
ME TRAIN MY PUP OR ADULT DOG?
Yes, we will be more than happy to help you get the
potential you want in your dog's behavior including basic
commands, house training, socializing, and protection
training.
